A Pennsylvania resident, Kolber received her graduate degree at her alma mater, the University of Miami. She began her professional career at CBS Sports New York City in the position of video coordinator. She won a local Sports Emmy during her tenure at WTVJ-TV located in Miami. She worked at WPLG-TV, Miami as well as WPEC-TV West Palm Beach. When ESPN2 was launched in that year she became the first anchor. After three years, she quit ESPN2 for Fox Sports.
