Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with gospel, soul music, and R&B. Avery Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe. She has also performed at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine is Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta, her roots are situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop a musical career singing and playing the piano at the church. She studied at Spellman College and began to study the R&B style of Atlanta. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her about being the choir leader of this theatrical production. Sunshine became famous throughout the four performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine went on to sing at Barack Obama's 2009 Inauguration.
